How to Reach Madhya Pradesh

By Air:

The busiest airport in the state of Madhya Pradesh is the Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport situated at Indore. Other airports like Jabalpur Airport, Raja Bhoj Airport in Bhopal, Khajuraho Airport and Gwalior Airport offer planned commercial flight facilities as well. Other than these, there are small airfields situated at places like Khandwa, Ujjain, Satna and Rewa.

By Road:

The majority of areas of the state are covered by train and bus services. The extensive roadways transportation network has a span of 99,043 km and there are 20 national highways in the state. The important inter-state bus depots are situated in Indore, Bhopal, Jabalpur and Gwalior. Over 2,000 buses ply from these cities on a regular basis. The intra-city transportation systems are primarily made up of private autos, buses, and taxis.

By Rail:

The railways network of the state spans a distance of 4,948 km and it zigzags the entire state. The West Central Railway Zone of the Indian Railways has its head office located in Jabalpur. Some areas of Madhya Pradesh are also covered by the Western Railway and the Central Railway. In all, there are 20 key railway junctions in the state.
There is no shoreline in the state. The majority of sea commerce activities takes place via Jawaharlal Nehru Port (Nhava Sheva) in Maharashtra and Kandla in Gujarat. All these enjoy excellent connectivity with Madhya Pradesh via railways and roadways transportation networks.
